Verify That Turnstile Protection Is Working

Product Knowledgebase View Plugin

Seeing Turnstile on the page is a good start, but it does not confirm the whole form is working correctly. This guide walks you through a practical test of the Turnstile check and the Divi form submission.

Step 1 — Verify the credential configuration

In Settings → Tech Dragon Divi Turnstile Nexus, confirm the current site key and secret key have passed Verify Turnstile connection.

If the credentials have changed since the last successful test, verify them again.

Step 2 — Confirm the form is protected

Use the Divi form protection inventory to confirm the specific Contact Form or Email Optin is reported as protected.

If it is not protected, return to the module's Spam Protection controls and configure Turnstile there.

Step 3 — Test the published page

Open the public-facing page containing the form.

Check that the expected Turnstile experience loads for the protected form.

Depending on your Cloudflare settings and how Turnstile evaluates the visitor, you may not always see an interactive challenge. That is normal. What matters is that Turnstile can verify the submission before Divi completes the form action.

Step 4 — Submit valid data

Submit the form with valid data.

Confirm:

  • the submission succeeds;
  • Divi's expected success message or redirect occurs;
  • the email is sent once for a Contact Form; or
  • the Email Optin subscription is processed once.

Tech Dragon Divi Turnstile Nexus does not replace Divi's email or provider configuration, so a successful Turnstile check does not guarantee that a misconfigured mail or subscription destination will work.

Step 5 — If the page has more than one form

If a page contains more than one form, test each one independently.

Useful combinations include:

  • one protected form plus one unprotected form;
  • two protected forms; and
  • different supported form types on the same page.

Each form should work independently. Submitting or resetting one form should not interfere with another form on the page.

Step 6 — Know what should happen when verification fails

If Turnstile cannot verify a protected submission, the email or subscription should not be completed. You do not need to deliberately break a live site to test this; the built-in connection test and normal front-end form testing are enough for routine site checks.

How to interpret common results

Turnstile succeeds but email does not arrive:

Investigate Divi email settings, WordPress mail delivery, or SMTP separately.

Turnstile succeeds but subscription does not occur:

Investigate the Email Optin provider/account configuration separately.

Form displays Divi validation errors:

Turnstile does not bypass Divi's own required-field or form validation.

One form affects another:

Collect the page layout, form types, Divi version, and plugin version for support.
